Here's what's coming in the rest of 2023 and beyond

As season five of The Heartland Author Podcast concludes with the sixtieth and final episode of the season that I'll upload tomorrow, there isn't a better time than now for me to update y'all regarding everything that is going on personally and professionally for me.

An update regarding my mom and I

First, I have to begin with an update regarding my mother's health. She is currently undergoing rehabilitation in a nursing home and is recovering remarkably well. At the time of the publishing of this blog post, I don't have an estimated release date for my mom, although I hope she is able to return home in the near future.

I have been living alone since my mom was originally hospitalized, and this is, by far, the longest amount of time that I've lived by myself, and only the second time I've had to live by myself temporarily (the first time was for several days in late summer of 2020). I've spent most of my time doing cleaning and other chores around the house, as well as setting up the house for when my mom returns home so she can return home safely.

Season six of The Heartland Author Podcast

I will not be taking quite as long of a summer break from The Heartland Author Podcast as I did last year, as, after I upload the season five finale tomorrow, I will begin uploading new episodes of the podcast starting with the season six premiere in August instead of September like I did last year for the season five premiere.

When I started season five back in September of last year, I expected to do 20-25 episodes during season five, not 60!

Going forward, I will be doing five-month seasons for the podcast instead of the nine-month, fall-to-spring season that I did for season five. Season six will run from August to December of this year, season seven will run from January to May of 2024, and so on.

New videos finally coming on The Heartland Author Channel

I've not uploaded any new videos on The Heartland Author Channel since April, but that will change starting next week! I'm finally going to start producing more videos in my constructed languages series, and I hope to be able to upload at least a few videos this month and next month, and I also hope to be able to upload at least one or two videos each month from August until November. As planned, I will go on a two-month winter break from The Heartland Author Channel annually in December and January starting this coming December and do a February-to-November schedule on The Heartland Author Channel in 2024 and beyond.

The return of Pride Sunday, this time on Apollo Thoughts

As today is the first day of Pride Month in 2023, every Sunday during the month of June, I will be writing a series of LGBTQIA+-themed articles. This time, instead of being on other blogs that I've long since deleted or abandoned, I'll write the Pride Sunday posts every Sunday in June this year and beyond on my Substack newsletter, Apollo Thoughts!

More Substack newsletters could be in the works

Apollo Thoughts is currently my only Substack newsletter, but I am open to the idea of creating more Substack newsletters with more narrowly-tailored content than the Apollo Thoughts newsletter. Details may be forthcoming at a later date, but I'm not making any promises regarding any future and additional Substack newsletters.

No books written by me will be published in 2023, but 2024 looks promising

As my mental health has not been good the last few months for many reasons, I've not gotten as much work done on my many works-in-progress as I would have liked to, and, as a result, the earliest I will be publishing my next book is sometime next year, likely sometime between late spring and late fall of next year. The good news is that my mental health is finally starting to improve.

New graphics coming to my YouTube channel, podcast, and more in 2024

Last, but certainly not least, I have begun work on graphic design for new logos and graphics for The Heartland Author Channel, The Heartland Author Podcast, Apollo Thoughts, and the rest of my online presence that will debut in January of next year! Some changes will be more drastic than others; at this time, I expect the changes to the Apollo Thoughts logo to be not much more than a color palette change, whereas major graphics overhauls are coming to my YouTube channel, podcast, and most of my social media accounts.
